Honda Car Brand’s History – Honda Logo

Yet another Japanese manufacturer made its way to the Top 10. Honda is another great company that mass produces reliable vehicles for the mass.

History

Honda’s history began at the humble beginnings of the Art Shokai garage. In 1937, Soichiro Honda began making piston rings under his tiny company’s name, Tokai Seiki (Eastern Sea Precision Machine Company). These piston rings were accepted by Toyota in 1941 which hailed him a contract with the company. He created an automated line of mass-producing piston rings for Toyota. As the world war, erupted, he helped in automating the production of military aircrafts propellers.

After the war between 1944 and 1945, he lost both of his manufacturing plants from the war and from a destructive earthquake. After selling the remains of his plants, he established the Honda Technical Research Institute in 1946. His tiny institute starts building motorized bicycles out of salvaged parts. These improvised engines became popular they kept producing them to simply be attached to bicycles; it was named Honda A-Type or Bata Bata. After earning from their rugged sales, Honda established Honda Motor Co., Ltd.

Hiring the expertise of Kihachiro Kawashima and Takeo Fujisawa, they completed the first motorcycle with an engine Honda created, the 1949 D-Type named Dream. By 1964, Honda’s company became one of the world’s largest motorcycle manufacturers.

In 1963, Honda produced their first vehicle, the T360 mini pick-up truck and after which, the S500 cports car came. This car manufacturing business expanded until later flew to different countries around the world. In 1986, Honda successfully introduced a new line of vehicles called Acura as Honda’s luxury car brand. When Honda died, Honda’s sales and technological development was overpowered by other automakers, Mitsubishi Motors. A revival plan was created mass producing Honda’s Odyssey and CR-V models. This also gave way for Honda Aircraft Company in producing jet aircrafts.

What To Love about Honda?

Internal Quality

You cannot live without a vehicle that is great on the inside. Honda is one of those vehicles that have been proven to be underdogs in the auto business. The heart of Honda is in the spectacular machinery and technology under the hood rather than the stylish or posh design.

Affordability

Honda keeps their vehicles nice and simple yet extremely smart. This simple design allows the company to keep a margin for consumers’ affordable purse prices. They match the greatness of vehicle price and quality.

What Not To Love About Honda?

Box-type Designs

Honda’s lackluster is probably the downside of Honda vehicles. The design proper of their cars isn’t to spectacular. Their vehicles look like boxes with smoother edges.
