This relatively young company, at present, is the employer for over 75,000 workers worldwide producing an average 1.6 million vehicles every year. Chung Ju Young was the founder and sole head of Hyundai group from when he founded it at 1947 to his death at 2001. Hyundai Group is a business tycoon in itself holding multiple businesses ranging from construction, manufacturing and even product sales. Since Chung’s death in 2001, Hyundai split into different branches attending to the different businesses of the Hyundai Group. Since then, Hyundai Motor Compnay is the representative of the Hyundai Group in automobile manufacturing.
Although Hyundai Group was established in 1947, Hyundai Motor Company was created two decades later in 1967. Chung spearheaded the idea of producing the company’s first vehicle and enlisted the help of Ford Motor Company in creating ‘The Cortina’. With the sales of the Cortina among other business sales, Chung wished to manufacture the first Korean Car. With this he hired multiple British Auto engineers and later produced Pony. Pony was such a success that it made its way through Latin America, then Europe, then Canada. Pony was so accepted in the Canadian community that at one point, it became the top-selling vehicle in the Canadian market. Later in 1986, Hyundai penetrated the United States with its Hyundai Excel Model.
Little by little, Hyundai was beginning to manufacture its own parts paving way to its independence in 1991. It sold affordable vehicles in almost any country it entered making it a top-selling vehicle due to cost. By the end of the century, Hyundai Group heavily invested in the Hyundai Motor Company launching aggressive advertising campaigns and massive production lines around the world making it one of the top brands in the world.
The logo features a smooth flowing ‘H’ which stands for Hyundai and an ellipsis surrounding the letter. The oval is meant to represent the global domination of Hyundai in the automobile manufacturing industry. The light blue color of Hyundai represents supremacy and excellence.

Its city street function is more than desirable causing a fad among the youth. It is one of the best-selling vehicles in the market due to its efficacy.

Hyundai may not have as many manufacturing plant around the world but the sales are still massive due to the power of the following manufacturing and assembly plants in the different countries, namely: South Korea, the Unites States, Brazil, the Czech Republic, China, India, Turkey and the Russian Federation.
